SPL Opens New Fuels and Lubricants Laboratory in Coppell, TX

February 13, 2026

SPL is scaling our capacity, improving workflows, and enhancing collaboration with the relocation of our Fuels and Lubricants Laboratory from Arlington to a new, purpose-built facility in Coppell, Texas.

Designed by our scientists and built for performance, this new, 15,272-square-foot laboratory strengthens our position at the center of the energy and aviation markets while expanding the services our customers rely on. The fuels and lubricants testing laboratory is now fully operational.

Built for Fuels, Lubricants, Aviation, and Contamination Investigation Testing

Our Coppell Fuels and Lubricants Laboratory serves fuel producers, distributors, aviation operators, industrial clients, and insurance carriers who depend on fast, accurate, and defensible data.

Core testing services include:

  • Jet fuel testing, including JFTOT and rapid 9 point and 15-point certification
  • Gasoline testing, and knock engine testing
  • Diesel and ethanol testing
  • Grease testing, including the full HPM specification slate
  • Insurance claim and fuel contamination testing
  • Deposition and fouling related and HLPS testing supporting broader industrial applications

Operating under ISO 17025 with more than 110 accredited test methods, the laboratory supports ASTM and Military Specification testing across fuels, lubricants, greases, and related products. Advanced and custom-built test equipment enables our teams to identify contamination, degradation, and wear with precision.

Designed by Scientists, Built for Performance

The move to Coppell reflects a strategic investment in both people and process.

“This move positions us at the forefront of the energy market, showcasing the excellent service that we deliver and the capabilities that set us apart,” said Leah Garcia, Lab Manager, Finished Products.

“Our move to this larger custom-built facility reflects our commitment to deliver the highest standards of laboratory testing and certification to better serve our clients. The space was designed by our scientists to enhance collaboration, accelerate innovation, and streamline our workflows to deliver fast reliable results under our ISO 17025 certified standards of quality.”

The new layout improves efficiency from sample receipt through reporting, allowing our teams to scale while maintaining the high level of technical review our customers expect.

What This Means for Customers

For existing customers, the transition is seamless. Customers can expect the same technical rigor while receiving the benefits of our expanded scale. With its proximity to key fuel customers, aviation hubs, and insurers, the Coppell laboratory strengthens local access while maintaining SPL’s national reach.

There are no major changes to shipping instructions beyond sending samples to the new Coppell address, effective immediately.
