Acquisition adds full-service water, wastewater, and specialty toxicology testing to SPL's growing Texas presence
Houston,TX — May 7, 2026 — SPL, a national laboratory and measurement services company, announced the acquisition of North Water District Laboratory Service, Inc. (NWDLS), headquartered in Houston, Texas. The acquisition strengthens SPL’s Environmental Labs division and expands the company’s capacity to serve clients across the greater Houston market and throughout Texas.
NWDLS is a 57,000 square foot full-service environmental laboratory located at 130 S. Trade Center Pkwy., Conroe, TX 77385. They provide a comprehensive range of analytical testing services including water, wastewater, soils, solids, and sediment analysis. The laboratory also offers specialty toxicology services, including a full suite of acute and chronic whole effluent toxicity (WET) testing and effluent biomonitoring, capabilities that significantly enhance SPL’s environmental lab network.

The acquisition of NWDLS is effective immediately. Existing NWDLS clients will experience no disruption to services and will benefit from seamless access to SPL’s full national laboratory network, expanded analytical capabilities, and 30+ locations across the United States.
