We perform testing by ASTM D1078 to determine the distillation range of volatile organic liquids, such as lacquer solvents and diluents. Distillation by ASTM D1078 covers the determination of the distillation range of liquids boiling between 30 and 350C that are chemically stable during the distillation process. This test is applicable to organic liquids such as hydrocarbons, oxygenated compounds, chemical intermediates, and blends of these materials. The relative volatility of organic liquids can be used with other tests for identification and measurement of quality.
We also perform distillation testing by ASTM D1160, ASTM D86, DIN 51751, and ISO 3405. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types.
