We perform testing by ASTM D1133 to find the Kauri-Butanol value of hydrocarbon solvents, which measures their solvent power in paint and other products. This test method is used for the determination of the relative solvent power of hydrocarbon solvents used in paint and lacquer formulations. The kauri-butanol value is used as a measure of solvent power of hydrocarbon solvents. High kauri-butanol values indicate strong solvency. This test method is suitable for solvents having an initial boiling point over 40°C and a dry point under 300°C.
Sample quantity required: 150 ml
