We perform grease quality testing by ASTM D2595 to determine the evaporation loss of lubricating greases at high temperatures between 200°F and 600°F. Evaporation loss in greases and oils can have an adverse effect on the performance characteristics of the product. When volatiles evaporate from greases, they may also contaminate the environment where the lubricant is used.
We also perform evaporation loss testing by ASTM D6375, ASTM D972, and MIL-H-22072 §4.6.5. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types. Click on the test method number to learn more about each test.
