We perform fuel quality testing by ASTM D3227 to determine the mercaptan sulfur in gasoline, jet fuel, kerosene, and in other distillate fuels. Mercaptan sulfur has an objectionable odor, an adverse effect on fuel system elastomers, and is corrosive to fuel system components. Mercaptan Sulfur by ASTM D3227 determines mercaptan sulfur in gasolines, kerosines, aviation turbine fuels, and distillate fuels containing from 0.0003 to 0.01 mass % of mercaptan sulfur.
We also perform sulfur analysis by ASTM D129, ASTM D2622, ASTM D4294, ASTM D5623, ASTM D5453, ASTM D7039, IP 61, IP 342, ISO 3012, and UOP 163. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types. Click on the test method number to learn more about each test.
Sample quantity required: 200 ml
ASTM D3227 corresponds to ISO 3012 and IP 342.
