We perform testing by ASTM D3278 to determine whether paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, and related products flash (ignite) at a specified temperature. This test method covers procedures for determining wheather a material does or does not flash at a specified temperature or for determining the lowest finite temperature at which a material does flash when using a small scale closed-cup apparatus. This method is applicable to paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, and other related products. The flash point is used by governmental regulatory agencies and may also be used to determine the presence of impurities or contaminants in a given liquid.
Sample quantity required: 100 ml
We also perform flash point testing by ASTM D92, ASTM E659, ASTM D93, ASTM D56, and ISO 2719. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types.
