We perform testing by ASTM D4289 to evaluate the compatibility of lubricants with elastomers by measuring the changes in an elastomer immersed in lubricant. This test method evaluates the compatibility of lubricating greases and fluids with elastomers. Measuring the changes in the volume and hardness of an elastomer that occur from immersion in a lubricating grease or fluid provides a means for evaluating relative compatibility.
