We perform gasoline testing by ASTM D5769 to determine the benzene, toluene, individual aromatic compounds, and total aromatics in finished motor gasoline. This testing is performed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Determining the benzene and the aromatic content of gasoline is necessary to assess the product’s quality and meet fuel regulations. This test method can be used for gasolines that contain oxygenates (alcohols and ethers) as additives.
