We perform diesel fuel quality testing by ASTM D6079 to evaluate the HFRR lubricity of diesel using a high-frequency reciprocating rig. Diesel fuel injection equipment has some reliance on the lubricating properties of diesel fuel. Lack of lubricity in diesel fuel can cause shortened life of engine components, such as diesel fuel injection pumps and injectors.
