We perform testing by ASTM D6668 to discriminate between materials which will or will not ignite and burn when exposed to 1500⁰F heat for 5 minutes. This test can be applied to any substance that is a solid or liquid at ambient temperature and pressure. ASTM D6668 provides a way to classify the flammability hazard of materials of hazard degrees (F=0) and (F=1) or both, in accordance with the definitions of degrees of flammability hazard as defined by NFPA 704. A material that doesn’t show any evidence of burning under the test conditions may be classified as Flammability Degree of Hazard Zero material (F=0) provided other properties of the material don’t require a higher degree of classification.
