We perform fuel quality testing by ASTM D7039 to determine the total sulfur content in gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, kerosene, biodiesel, and other fuels. ASTM D7039 uses monochromatic wavelength-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (MWDXRF) spectrometry. Knowing the sulfur content of diesel fuels, gasoline, and refinery process streams used to blend gasolines is important for process control and predicting and controlling operational problems such as unit corrosion and catalyst poisoning. This information is also useful when blending products to commodity specifications. Various federal, state, and local agencies regulate the sulfur content of some petroleum products, including gasoline and diesel. Unbiased and precise determination of sulfur in these products is critical to compliance with regulatory standards.
We also perform sulfur analysis by ASTM D129, ASTM D2622, ASTM D3227, ASTM D4294, ASTM D5623, ASTM D5453, IP 61, IP 342, ISO 3012, and UOP 163. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types. Click on the test method number to learn more about each test.
