Fuels & Lubricants Testing Capabilities

ASTM E203 (Water Content – Karl Fischer – Volumetric)

April 24, 2024

We perform fuel testing by ASTM E203 to measure the free water and water of hydration content in petroleum products using volumetric Karl Fischer titration. Titration techniques using Karl Fischer reagent are widely used for the determination of water. This test method is intended as a general guide for the application of the volumetric Karl Fischer titration for determining free water and water of hydration in most solid or liquid organic and inorganic compounds.

We also perform water content, water contamination, and water resistance testing by ASTM D1264, ASTM D1401, ASTM D1533, ASTM D1744, ASTM D1796, ASTM D2709, ASTM D4006, ASTM D4007, ASTM D4049, ASTM D4928, ASTM D95, FTM 3463, IP 386, ISO 10337, ISO 3733, and IP 74. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types. Click on the test method number to learn more about each test.

Sample quantity required: 5 ml
