We perform testing by ASTM F945 to measure the ability of aircraft turbine engine cleaning materials to cause stress corrosion cracking of titanium alloy parts. Because prestressed titanium alloy parts have a tendency to crack if heated while in contact with certain chemical reagents, it is necessary to ensure that cleaning and maintenance materials will not initiate stress corrosion of titanium alloys under controlled conditions. This test uses two titanium alloy test specimens, one that is very susceptible and one that is not very susceptible to stress corrosion cracking.
Sample quantity required: 1 liter (1000 ml)
