We perform lubricants quality testing by FTM 3012 to measure particulate matter contamination in aerospace hydraulic fluids using a laser particle counter. This method describes the determination of particulate matter in aerospace hydraulic fluids with an automatic particle counter analyzer working on the light interrupt principle. We use a Pacific Scientific Hiac Royco 8000A particle counter and ABS2 bottle sampler with an HRLD-400 sensor. This sensor can detect particles from 2 to 400 μm in size.
This test method is commonly used for all types of military specification fluids.
Particle size is reported in ranges:
5-15 μm
16-25 μm
26-50 μm
51-100 μm
>100 μm
Sample quantity required: 300 ml
We also perform particulate contamination testing by Hach 8160, ISO 4406, NAS 1638, FTM 3010, FTM 3009, ASTM D6217, ASTM D5452, ASTM D4176, ASTM D2276, FTM 3013, ASTM D4898. These different test methods use different instruments or procedures or are used for certain sample types. Click on the test method number to learn more about each test.
